In Traditional Chinese Medicine, He Shou Wu, in its processed form, nourishes the liver and kidney which is the source for Blood and Essence, respectively. The Liver Blood nourishes the head, scalp, and hair. The Kidney essence nourishes the bone marrow and bones, replenishes semen, and controls the aging process. He Shou Wu may support hair growth, support hair original color, and support bones and muscles associated with aging.
In addition to He Shou Wu, Shou Wu Pian (Wan) contains a blend of 12 additional herbs. This formulation is used to further enhance the action of He Shou Wu because He Shou Wu as a single herb often does not produce the optimal results. The same formula has been used by the noble class in China for vitality and longevity.
